7th grade students have been figuring out what formula arrives at Pi (3.14).   You have probably seen them around the house measuring circles.  We all have been told that Pi is 3.14, but most of us don't know the reasoning around it.  Please feel free to ask your student to explain it to you.

Step 2:  login: (student lunch ID #) followed by ljh.   example:  12345ljh

Step 3:  password:  pirates1!

If you have any questions, please contact me.

Coach Martinez
We have begun finding the percentage of a number.   The examples we use are sale prices, tax, and tip.   If when you are at the mall, HEB, restaurant, ect., having a conversation about how the new prices are reached or explaining the tax, tip process, would help them in the classroom with real-life application.

6 weeks

We have reached the 6 week mark. Most of my students have done a great job being responsible and getting their work in on time.  Some have gone over a couple of speed bumps along the way but are back on the right track.  I would like to thank all of the parents for their support.  Respect and responsibility are the staples of our class and their success reflect on the great job you are doing with your children.

A reminder that we have had homework EVERY Monday thru Thursday.  The homework varies from 5 to 30 minutes long. Please encourage them to complete their work daily.
